Owning a horse is a big commitment of time, energy, and finances, and we believe the best way to step into that lifestyle is by adopting and bonding with a horse before making a full ownership decision. Our Adopt-a-Horse / Bonding Program allows riders to build a meaningful relationship with a specific horse while learning what true horse care and commitment look like—without the pressure of immediate ownership.
This program is designed to help riders and families experience the horsey lifestyle in a realistic, supportive, and educational way.
Why Adopt & Bond First?
Build a real relationship with one horse and learn their personality, habits, and needs
Experience the responsibilities of horse care without the full commitment of ownership
A more affordable and flexible option than purchasing a horse
Learn hands-on, side-by-side with Tina or Bryttany, gaining real-life horsemanship skills
Ease into the daily routines of grooming, tacking, riding, and care
Gives parents the opportunity to evaluate a child’s long-term interest and commitment
If the timing isn’t right, transitioning out of the program is much easier and less emotional than buying and later selling a horse
This program is about connection, responsibility, and confidence—not just riding. Many riders discover a deeper appreciation for horses, while others realize they’re not quite ready yet, which is just as valuable.
Below are just a few horses currently available through our Adopt & Bond Program. We have many different horses suited to a variety of ages, experience levels, and riding goals. We carefully match each rider with the right horse to ensure a safe, positive, and meaningful experience.
You pay one low monthly lease fee — and we pay all stabling costs, including feed, hay, shavings, veterinary, and farrier care.
To keep our horses safe and sound, we do restrict rides to no more than two hours so that our horses have time to recuperate after being ridden.
Wolcott Farms is a family-owned horse farm nestled on 48 acres of beautiful Wyoming County countryside. Over the years, the farm has grown into a diverse, year-round destination centered around horses, offering training, riding experiences, and hands-on horsemanship. Maple syrup production is a complementary part of the farm, adding to its charm, while horses remain the heart of everything we do and keep the farm active all year long.
